I'm shopping for a whisker pole and am leaning away from a carbon pole for
the obvious reasons. Anyone have a suggestion for good deals on aluminum
poles?

Ask around locally for a used one. I have a whisker pole in my shed
that I would part with quite cheaply, but the cost of shipping would
be brutal.

I talked to a local rigger after someone else asked a similar question
a week ago. He said a lot of people are trading in aluminum poles
for carbon, and thus he had some used aluminum poles.
