Somewhere on the Chesapeake

It seems my sister and her hubby have bought about 5 acres somewhere in
MD on a point of land. She works for ### and he is a ##### ####
bureaucrat so they both have more money than sense.
Anyway, he found some sort of 22' boat on ebay to keep at their new
dock. He thinks he is an authority on ALL topics, including boats in
spite of not owning one for over 30 yrs.
Maiden voyage

She: Arent we getting sort of far out (her idea of boating is a
canoe).
He: We can go all over the Ches.

She: Why is water coming from the engine?
He: The water intake is just leaking a little.

Suddenly, teh corroded water intake gives way and water starts pouring
in. They finally wrap a plastic bag around it with some twine from the
fenders I sent them to hold it in place. They get towed in. She
refuses to set foot in the boat again.

I got this story third hand from my parents. I know it is bad to think
so but I think there is some justice in this.

Frankly I don't think justice, poetic or not, has anything to do with
it. Weird things happen to boats all the time, even to humble
experienced owners with well maintained boats.

Be grateful it wasn't you, that is the proper attitude IMHO.

This is "in the family" normal rules of behavior don't apply.
