They were created as my thanks to Jacques Mertens of Bateau.com and
all builders who take the time to post and help others in the Bateau
forums.

With all due respect and I am not so sure much is due. That is a
serious blunder of engineering.
Douglas Fir has no business in that application. Also for the amount
of work involved? It would be more cost effective to buy a pair or
proper oars made of proper wood for oars. They dont ever LOOK good. Why
go thru all that work if the materials and workmanship result in such a
gastly nightmare?
