Hurricane season

I guess I am glad I didnt leave my boat far from home during this
hurricane season. I was going to leave it in Sarasota but instead
brought it back up state to Shell Pt, FL south of Tallahassee. The
hurricane a few weeks ago (I forget the names there have been so many)
nearly caused my dock to flaot free and destroyed quite a few nearby
homes simply due to storm surge. This new one (Katrina) looks as if to
be using very shallow Apalachee Bay as a bullseye although ther is
plenty of time for it to change its mind. A very wide very shallow
south facing bay with my boat at the head of it, perfect condition for
storm surge.

Gonna try to talk my technician into spending the night of the storm at
a relatives house instead of at his boat like he did for Dennis. Its
his life but it'd be seriously inconvenient to have to replace him.

of year i question the reasons why i own a boat . its such a wear on
the nerves. i keep her on anchor just down from the house. out to put
additional anchor and take the sails down etc...............every othe
wekk is such a drag. but the comes october and the cool winds with it.
time to cruise and all is forgotten so easily. .......so far at least
it has not been like last year. hangin in there.
