Anyone own a Superwind 350 wind genny?
 

On paper, this new wind genny looks sweet. Anyone here own one
and can tell us what they think of them? They look like "the"
unit to own, assuming there is no hidden problems with the

Maximum at 24 knots and essentially zero below 10???? Seems optimized
for 12-24 knot winds. We don't often anchor in that much wind. For our
purposes, a little solar panel is more effective and a lot cheaper.

Well yeah, that's one disadvantage; but then again it keeps
producing in 24+ knot winds, where other units start "regulating"
or cutting out due to thermal breakers.

I think if they rewired the alternator for a lower start speed it
would be a prefect product.

Forgot: PV panels are fine, but they are not cheap, and don't
tend to work in the same conditions the wind genny does. They
compliment each other, not substitute.

As I said previously, we don't usually anchor in 12-24 knot winds. In
fact, even chartering during the Christmas Winds in the BVI, we hardly
ever saw those sorts of wind speeds at anchor.

With the Superwind costing EU$1000+, we could buy quite a bunch of solar
capability that would work even under a cloudy sky.
