sea ray sundancer 280
 

Looking at a sea ray sundancer 280 to purchase. It will be my first
large power boat as I have always been a sailor. Any opinions on this
boat? Things I should look for, or known problems? I am waiting to
get the survey done, but stil want to know if this is a good boat for
the recreational cruiser. Most of our cruising will be on Lake Huron.

I've got a 1997 290 Sundancer. Great boat. What kind of power plant are
you looking at - also, what year and if you don't mind me asking - what is
the asking price??

Rozz, you can't go wrong with a Sundancer on big water. The only questions
I would ponder is whether the 28 ft is large enough for your intended
mission. It is pretty small to be way offshore. Similar consideration is
engines, that second engine provides a huge measure of comfort. You can't
swim a boat that big back to shore! (Most model years on the 28' you could
get either one or two engines).
