Gotta tie her up
 

Going to have to go to the coast thus evening to tie up my boat. Every
storm forecast has Arlene coming further east so....

I currently have my boat at Shell Point about 200 miles east of
Pensacola and 100 miles east of Panama City. Last I saw, there was
about a 15% chance of Arlene passing within 60 nm. None of the other
boats seemed to be adequately secured. I was really shocked. Of
course, this is the first time I have spent hurricane season in a
marina but do I just worry too much?

That's life on the water. We had a surprise 60 knot (gusts) blow go
through here last month. Boat sunk, docks were torn up. On of the 30
ft plus sailboats sunk simply because it rode back in its slip and
battered the transom in. Yesterday I noticed that less than half the
boats in the marina have spring lines.
