Another question about heads
 

Hi

If heavier, non-dissolving T.P. has been used aboard by the previous
owner, I would of course have no way of knowing.

Assuming that the previous owner used it, what should be done to get the
crud out of the tank. FLush liberally with Fresh water a few times
perhaps? Is there some sort of additive that should be used to ensure
that the paper products dissolve sufficiently to come out during a pump out?

If you haven't had any problem dumping the tank or pumping it out yet, I
doubt you have anything to worry about.

All you need to do is flush out the tank with clean water...put a few
gallons down the deck pumpout fitting--'cuz that sends it into the tank
at the bottom to stir up the sludge--pump that
out...repeat...repeat..till you're pumping out only clean water. Then
run another few gallons of clean water through the macerator or manual
pump to rinse it out. Or you can do whole job by sticking a hose (not
the same one you use to fill your water tank!) down the pumpout fitting
while you run the macerator.

Once or twice a year should be enough to prevent any problems.
