Outboard thrust bearing for sailboat
 

I suspect you had a similar problem to mine.
Someone put an external stuffing box on after the hydraulic drive tailshaft
failed due to a shaft coupling coming out of the sleeve. Managed to fix it
with stainless sleeves, stainless muffler clams and JB weld.
