About JAXAshby
I would like to ask three questions: 1) Does JAXAshby post useful, intelligent information in his responses to others? 2) Does JAXAshby ever post replies to others that are NOT insulting and rude? 3) Is there anyone on this newsgroup who thinks that JAXAshby makes it a better place? Jimmy |

I would like to ask three questions: 1) Does JAXAshby post useful, intelligent information in his responses to others? of course. see discussions on the inherant dangers of anchoring on all chain, or the invalidity of the concept of "hull speed", or why sails don't "suck" boat forward because they are "curved on one side", or my relating my recent offshore trip. Let me repeat that one, because you missed it. Quote: ENE. Nothing broke. No drama. Unquote. 2) Does JAXAshby ever post replies to others that are NOT insulting and rude? I only slide down to the level of the idgits when they claim the world's source of information is Popular Science magazine, and they learned everything there is to know by the time they were 13 yrs old. 3) Is there anyone on this newsgroup who thinks that JAXAshby makes it a better place? Of course I know because they email. Sadly, most leave not long after due to SO much non-valid garbage information spouted by people afraid of 14 knot winds. Jimmy |
ROTFLMFAO OK, anybody besides Sociopath JAXASHBY care to answer ? Let's repost to keep it clear. This time JAX, let someone else answer. You're (inflated) opinion of yourself is already well documented in usenet. Jimmy James, I think it would be a great idea if you folks would start an alt.bash.jaxashy newsgroup and take this stuff over there. You all act so outraged at Jax's mere existence, but you insist on replying to his posts - especially the inflammatory ones - and even starting new threads to bait him. If you want him to go away, just ignore him. But you know that don't you? It makes one wonder who here is the troll? I hate killfiling knowledgable people because they just can't let this stuff alone. |
Cindy please answer the questions.
Thanks Jimmy |

they *could* try talking sailing, couldn't they, but then I would post even more and they would post even less. Cindy, they are just whistling walking past the cemetary at night. They are terrified to go out on a boat when the wind gets high enough to make whitecaps. |
Well Blackbeard, I will take your answers as

Jimmy 1. sometimes. 2. sometimes. 3. sometimes. Variations in his bootleg "medications" and erratic dosing by his attendants cause marked changes in his avatar. Some think he is the water cooler video game somewhere, played by different teams on an obscure rotation schedule employing an 8-ball mystery answer machine, or an Ouija board with a square ball bearing bouncing around on an industrial bakery mixing cauldron half full of bricks and goose grease, mounted on rusty springs. WRT #3, the individual is probably himself. I unplonk him on occasion, for a little stimulation. He is a bit like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. If you like marzipan and turkish delight and fermented garlic fish paste, you might enjoy the experience, but grease up your sense of humour and snug up your tolerance collar, first. What's he up to this week? (Like it matters? You shouldn't eat what you didn't cook, and you should never take usegroup seriously, Never.) He even complimented me, recently. That was scary. I had to re-read a week's worth of my old postings, to see where I went wrong. Terry K "Moderation in most things!" -Me. |

I've already told you JAXASHBY, your answers don't count.
For the sake of clarity I will ask again. 1) Does JAXAshby post useful, intelligent information in his responses to others? 2) Does JAXAshby ever post replies to others that are NOT insulting and rude? 3) Is there anyone on this newsgroup who thinks that JAXAshby makes it a better place? |

Mr. Spragg, I salute your command of verbal imagery. A brief comment a Scottish friend made once sums it up: "Yer man's got a heid full o' wee motors". Classic. He even complimented me, recently. That was scary. I had to re-read a week's worth of my old postings, to see where I went wrong. Yeah, I got one of those once, presumably right after one of his "sessions"..or perhaps the moon was in phase or something. It soon cleared up and he was back to chewing through his rode. R. |

Alternating floats and kellets on chain, known as an accordion mooring, work very well. If you had any experience, you'd know. or the invalidity of the concept of "hull speed", It is a perfectly useful prediction of an approximation of the most economical cruising speed in some cases. or why sails don't "suck" boat forward because they are "curved on one side", Sails certainly do suck, because they are anti-curved on the other side. All arguements can be expressed from more than one viewpoint. It's a mathematically invertable answer, like the famous "Gravity blows apart matter with negative mass." -I forgot who said that. or my relating my recent offshore trip. Let me repeat that one, because you missed it. Quote: ENE. Nothing broke. No drama. Unquote. How long did mommy let you stay in the tub? Jax usually replies to himself, but even then sometimes he is polite. I only slide down to the level of the idgits when they claim the world's source of information is Popular Science magazine, and they learned everything there is to know by the time they were 13 yrs old. You do it more often than that. Besides, Popular Science is the BEST source of information, partly because it's timely, partly because it's free if you read it while waiting for your beloved to meet you by the checkout, also, it must be good, because some people pay to read it. Suckers. 3) Is there anyone on this newsgroup who thinks that JAXAshby makes it a better place? Does painting dog poo make it "better?" At least, the medium precludes his appearing here in person, so...Yaaa. But, soon, we and he will be able to embed a dedicated, live web cam window in every posting. At that point, I would have to reverse my answer. Of course I know because they email. Sadly, most leave not long after due to SO much non-valid garbage information spouted by people afraid of 14 knot winds. Better the idiots who do not reef? They don't leave, zaK, they plonk you again. Jimmy Jimmie's not here. Go back to sleep. Do not belive what the trolls tell you they want. Terry K |
Sails certainly do suck, because they are anti-curved on the other
side. There is no such force in nature called "suck". It doesn't exist. btw, a sheet of plywood has no curve or anti-curve to it at all and it most certainly can be used to move a sailboat forward. |

ian, it appears they released from gael. seasons greetings and good panhandling. As to panhandling, I've belived a few plausible rogues before now. I have also helped some genuinely in need who have tried to repay me later when they could. Is there a snubber or other shock absorber in there
somewhere? the author anchors on rope, using the cable for chafe protection. Read a copy of GOB on a newsstand. The author (and wife) uses 100' lengths (say they wish they had 50' lengths) hooked together with carbiners, hooked to a small amount of chain hooked to an anchor. Makes it easy to put out two anchors (in case the wind shifts) with a heavy kellet weight to eliminate the rode fouling the keel or rudder. |
1) Does JAXAshby post useful, intelligent information in his responses
to others? Not that I am aware of. Seems he is loaded with mis information and insults. Imature insults at that. Child like. 2) Does JAXAshby ever post replies to others that are NOT insulting and rude? If he has, I have missed it. 3) Is there anyone on this newsgroup who thinks that JAXAshby makes it a better place? I can't imagine any place that ol Jacks would make a better place. Can you imagine stuck with this man on a boat and haveing to listen to his insesecent rants? ekk I have said it before, and I shall say it again, when ever jax posts, it's as if someone farted in the room. maybe if we compained to aol?

James :
I would like to ask three questions: 1) Does JAXAshby post useful, intelligent information in his responses to others? Yes. But so rarely that I can't think where I saw the last one like that. 2) Does JAXAshby ever post replies to others that are NOT insulting and rude? Again yes. But also again rarely. Still more often than the answer to question #1. 3) Is there anyone on this newsgroup who thinks that JAXAshby makes it a better place? No. I have been deleting all his messages for the last two years, it has made reading rec.boat.crusing a lot more fun. Earl Colby Pottinger -- I make public email sent to me! Cut it to zero and save 100% |
