Just bought an Alberg 35 yawl which needs work. I'm planning on moving
her here (north shore mass) from ananpolis and anticipate her staying
in the yard for the next 14-16 months. Any recommendations for a good
inexpensive yard for this project? It needn't be on the water, just
friendly to DIY types.

I did some work on a fellow sailing club members boat that was stored in
North Shore Boat Works is on Route 1A in Revere between 1 and 2 miles
north of the Wonderland Dog Track. The address is: 7 Thayer Avenue,
Revere. Phone (but they rarely answer it): 781-284-4220.

That was part of the original email from my client, above. The yard is
right by the bridge by Point of Pines, Revere. You have to go by and see
them, or make a serious effort to call. I *never* got a return call from
them, and neither did my client. They are an old style yard, run the
boats around on a crane on railroad tracks, the building is about 150
years old, a one lung make or break engine sitting beside a new
MerCruiser in the shop.

I did some work for another person at Dions in Marblehead. I don't know
about their rates, but access was a problem. He was in a lot a couple of
blocks away from the yard, and at unpredictable times they would turn
off the power and leave, some guys would let you shut up after them and
others would not.

For what it's worth, I have A35 hull# 62 built in 1960, a sloop. When
you get her up here, I'd sure like to see the yawl rig.

I also brought my boat up from Annapolis. Maybe they're all coming north
in their old age
