Looking at a chartplotter and a 3d mapping program gave me some ideas.
Build a small computer display into the lenses of glasses. Wherever you looked, they could either be transparent or display the positions of buoys, etc and water depth contours superimposed on what you were looking at. |

Go to google.com, in the advanced search. Enter "video glasses", without quotes, as your search criteria. Thousands of old pages. Trouble is resolution seems to be, at best, VGA. |

I-Glasses makes a 3D head set with good resolution but it is rather clunky
looking. Probably not a good way to keep up with what is going on in the real world. "Parallax" wrote in message om... Looking at a chartplotter and a 3d mapping program gave me some ideas. I really dont like such gadgets but some ppl do. I still use paper charts, hand bearing compass and dividers. Best use I found for my garmin GPS has been to replace my speedometer on my old truck cuz I keep forgetting to put it on my boat. |
