Purchasing a boat in Canada

I've been looking at some Siren 17s for sale including some in Canada.
Just out of curiosity, anyone know what is involved in bringing back
over the border to the US a used boat purchased in Canada. What
documentation is required at the border and what sort of duty charges
are involved. Thanks for any replies.

Well first of all Bob what you gotta recognize is that them Canadians is
just not trustworthy. After all there's all them thar Al Kaida sleeper
cells operatin up thar. Then thar's them Frenchies. Dangit they eat
thur cheese unpasturized! That ain't normal! An dammit they jus won't
do what we want them to do! Don't they know we're the leaders of the
free world? As fer that boat of yours, first thing we have to do,
_regardless_ of the paperwork is to quarantine that sucker down in Gitmo
fer at least a year or two. Yup, we'll keep the lights on, and the
Lynrd Skynrd UP 24/7 jus so's we canbe sure that all the snowballs of
mass destruction them damn Canucks'll hide on board'll melt in the hot
sunshine of freedom. Hallelujah baby!

*** Don't forget to take a look at 'Sandpiper 565' sailboats while you
travel 'God's country'. Thay usually cost a grand or so more than the Siren
17 but you get twice the boat. :-)
