Ford Marine Diesel Parts Compatibility
AL:
Call Bob Smith at American Diesel - 804-435-3107 - he the expert on all things Lehman. Cheers, Ed I have a good friend and skipper, stuck in Hong Kong at the moment; he is trying to refit a salvaged sailboat he found there and bring it back to the states. The boat's propulsion engine is a Ford Diesel inline normally aspirated 6 cylinder with a "Lees" marinized fresh water cooling system and is rated at 85 kw. It is pretty well trashed but the block seems ok. There are a couple of similar engines in the boatyard as spares; he is trying to determine compatibility. The number 703F 3015 BA is on the block and 883F 8080 GAA is on the head. I was told it is probably a 2715E, with "T2" cast on the block. The "spare" engines have the stamps 705F 6015 BA on the block and 823F 6090 GAA on the head. He wants to know which of the following: flywheel, clutch, crank, injectors, fuel filters, fuel pumps, water pumps, valves, and rods are interchangeable between the different engines Any ideas? |
