The two that I like and use most a
Waypoint+
http://www.tapr.org/~kh2z/Waypoint/
Free and very useful, but Garmin only

GPS Utility
http://www.gpsu.co.uk/
Free download is very useful, for cheap it is real powerful
It is not Garmin only and can tranfer data between almost any
units that can accept direct input.

You shopuld also look at Peter Bennett's

where you can learn a lot more.
