And, so it begins...

Isaac's rain bands have started to reach us in the tropical storm warning band, which means that we'll nearly certainly see 40 knot winds. Indeed, from my conversation with our weather guru, Chris Parker this morning, we'll see that level of wind tomorrow, with gusts to 50 knots.

So, instead of the last coat of paint, I'm going to the boat this morning to wrap the two sails remaining, with covers (the genoa is already done), with counter-laps of line, to insure that wind won't lift them, and to secure any loose items both on the ground and deck.

Then I'll do some work on MY computer to get up the pictures we've taken of all the stuff we've been doing of late, and will provide the link(s)...

Our prayers go out to all in Isaac's more direct path...

Thank you. It looks like we're more or less OK here on the west
coast although keeping a *very* close eye on developments. The Keys
look a little vulnerable (as always), and so does the Big Bend area of
northern Florida which is very susceptible to storm surge flooding
with big southerly winds.

We put up a few storm shutters today on the south side of the house
and tidied up the boat and dock area. The 1 inch hurricane lines
have been on for a while now, along with some extra fenders.
