Anyone going to the Caribbean from East Coast?? Where on the 'east coast'? It's a long coast. Assuming you are starting from way north, the best thing is to inquire along the way at anchorages, etc. I never had any problems finding sailing boat companions. Someone is always going your way or you'll change and go theirs or something. If you plan on doing the ditch, be SURE to get some local and current pubs about latest conditions, places to stay, latest bridge data and so forth. This is important even in a Mac 26x. It's VITAL if you have any significant draft. |

The last time we were there, the Dutch had just raised the rates, so we came thru the French side and anchored near Witches tit. I understand the French have also raised their rates. Hanz |

Some times we've done the rhumb line, other times we headed east. It depends on the weather. Hanz |

Well, then, you'll have no issues with depth :) I'd suggest asking about the city marina and at that anchorage to the north to find any others who may be planning on a ditch trip but who would, instead, prefer your open ocean route. |
