The Logs

Every cruiser should carry a log and make entrys often.

It's always fun to go back and read.

What is a good entry in your log book?

I'll go first.

12-30-07 22:00
Winds 30 kt SSE
Wave 15 X 200
GPS speed 11kts
Heavy overcast.

Got tired so took the midnight pulpit ride. AMAZING! Both fore sails
were howling + pumpkin sized jellies were flashing everywhere. The P
bubble trail astern was magic. We are hauling ass.

But, some people would have to first locate their yacht on the bottom of the
Gulf, dive on it and retrieve the waterlogged log book . . .

Hello Chester,

The logs of RedCloud sit here on my desk, in a converted bunk room
that is now our office. It was but one small item we packed up in a
small suitcase and swam with. I'm talking about swimming in raging
seas to the rescue basket. I had to swim with Skipper the dog so my
brother swam with the suitcase full of "stuff" very, very valueable
stuff. Did you ever notice that out of all the USCG film released none
of it shows my brother. Me and the dog sure, Terry with her fuzzy
boots..you bet... but my bro smiling ear to ear with the bag that
never had to clear anything....nah.

. I lost everything but some how now have one of the nicest classic
yachts on the lake. A sweet Aruba. How are things going with you Neal?

Back to the subject:

You can make up a log entry to follow along with the subject . Do
like you always do and pretend you have a life and have sailed
somewhere.

It would be nicer if someone who sails posted a decent log entry.
Cept Skip maybee, my eyes get blurry after 5 pages.

Joe
