I have been searching for these boots for a reasonable price ever since I saw them in Filene's Basement. I've worn them twice already and I like them very much. The only issue is they could've had more cushion in the ball of the foot but that was easily taken care of with some cushions from Payless
After reading the first review of these boots, I was hesitant to purchase, as I am a petit woman (size 4) and did not want to have complications with the calves fitting properly. To my amazement, I found that these boots fit perfectly!!! The foot is true to size, and the calves are snug, yet still have room to stretch with those back panels. Just to give you a rough estimate, my calves are 14.25 inches around when flexed. When I'm wearing them, there definitely is room for fuller legs than mine, but I feel that a woman with slightly smaller legs would be just fine too. Perhaps if you have pencil-thin legs, you should opt for boots with functional buckles to tighten them down.
I was looking for a pair of boots to diversify my style; Just about all of my boots are 3+ inch stiletto heels and rather uncomfy after a couple hours, so they're not the kind of boots you just throw on at the spur of the moment without reservation esp. if you plan to walk alot. I wanted something a little more casual and comfy but still very stylish. After seeing them for the first time online a few months ago, I'd really grown in love with these and finally decided to get them. Although the heel is pretty high, the platform sole gives the arch of your foot a much needed break from the usual high heel torment. The foot bed itself is comfy (I bought a half size larger than I usually wear in Guess pumps to leave room for socks). The calve circumference is roomy and it has a stretch panel in the instep at the top-- perfect for those of us who have thicker legs; as a former dancer with full muscular legs I can never find boots to fit and always have to get them stretched or cut off circulation to my ankles, but these boots fit like a glove; No tugging at the zipper mid-way trying to force it up to the top (you curvacious ladies know what I'm talking about). The brown is a beautiful shade and is a great style piece for the fall of even early spring. The only criticism I have of this shoe --and it's very trivial-- is that if you like to cross your legs alot when you sit, the upper buckle on the outside of the boots tends to dig into the thigh of your supporting leg, so you either have to wedge your hand in between while you sit or just keep both feet on the floor...but again that's trivial. Outside of that this is a great addition to a fashion forward closet.
These are very pretty and seemingly well made boots. However, I was disappointed to find that although the foot fit beautifully, the calf circumference was HUGE! It was very disappointing that this was not clarified in the item description. These would be a cute choice for a plus-sized girl, but that distinction should REALLY have been made in the item description!!!
