Sail options
 

still working on getting the chrysler 22 sea worthy, meaning buying
everything that is missing. Thanks to this group I have found were to
buy the sails but not sure what would be my best options. I'm all for
buying a good set of used sails to get my feet wet.

I want alot of time on one of the big lakes here in NC with plans on
coast.

For some reason most everything was still with the boat but a boom.
Would there have been a sail option with no boom?

I'm tryng to get with the last person I know sailed it to see if he
has it, or just buy/make if I had details one so I can get on the
water soon.

Updates are the boat is in the front yard (I can see it now) on a
cradle while I do repairs to the trailer , lots of cleanning and made
a new wood table leg to replace the rusted original.

No, you need that spar. If you can't find it then you'll need to buy
one. How can you order used sails without knowing the length of the foot?
When you order the sails ask if the price includes battens.
Before you throw too much money at this boat I'd recommend learning how
to sail and row small boats. It sounds as if you lack the basics.

the no boom thing was wishful thinking...lol

I've donealot of sailing on smaller sail boats like sunfish's and
hobie cats.

I do understand that I will need the boom before ordering the sails .
So that will be my next step thanks.

Once you get the proper dimension for the boom and sails (boom from another
owner and sail dims from Sailrite http://www.sailritesails.com/) you might
try craigslist and ebay for used. I see a lot of sails on ebay, and booms
too but they're hard/expensive to ship.
Might also find out if there is a marine salvage in your area.

I think Mario is about 3 hrs drive from the ocean. There are some
reservoirs but it's not a yachting area. He might find something in Morehead
City or in Washington on the pamlico sound.

Yea I'm in the middle of NC. There are some real nice lakes on the NC/
VA state line that I would like to play in this summer. I think I
will look for ship yards in Wilmington NC just found out I have
family there.

So far I have very little into this other then the time I've enjoyed
working on it, so I can't see where I could be dumping much from here
to ge it sea worthy.

I have found web sites of others that have a C-22 sandpipers and
reading as much info as I can in the meantime.
