Default Sail type question

Hi all..

Got a question..

I have this sail, but have no clue what it is called.. It is made out of
spinnaker material, but does not have the characteristics of one:

Looks like a drifter or gennaker. Very light air sail, but not limited to
off-wind use as a spinnaker is (you should be able to close-reach with it).

I concur. We have a similar sail for our dowager Westsail 32. Gets the old
girl smokin' in winds up to about 10 knots max. Our gennaker has a luff
wire, so you can haul the halyard really taught and sail slightly upwind,
anyway, and close reach like a demon. Dead downwind you slack the halyard
and the sail behaves very much like a spinnaker. Handy cruising sail.

It's a drifter with a badly cupped leach (or a WAY over tightened leach
line). Use it for close reaching in very light air, or as a downwind
sail too... works great poled out like a genoa but filles easier.
