Record snows in Spokane, even Costco had to close!
10 deg in Sequim this morning. and 6 inches on the ground. Water pipes
frozen on the boat moored in salt water. (never happens here!)
Where in the hell is this global warming?

Last winter, Green Bay broke the 117 year record for seasonal snowfall.
We're already on track to break last year's record, and it's colder than
"normal." I say bring on the Global Warming! I wanna be able to sail on
Green Bay year-round.

It's hot so it's global warming. It's colder than hell - that's also a
result of global warming. It's a busy hurricane season - that's due to
global warming. It's a slow hurricane season - that's a consequence of
global warming. There's an el niño - global warming. There's a la niña -
global warming again. Snowing in Los Angeles - global warming. Mudslide -
global warming. Forest fires - global warming. Flying saucers - global
warming. Volcanoes erupting - global warming. Polar ice caps melting on
Mars - human caused global warming on Earth. Gads! So many people are soooo
stupid.

The weather NEVER has been anything BUT anomalous. Get a clue. You can't
quantify it with a bunch of stats and then claim any weather that doesn't
conform to some sort of statistical norm is anomalous. You can't even do
that with climate let alone weather which is a local phenomenon by
definition.

Human-caused, carbon dioxide related global warming is just so bogus and has
been proven so beyond a shadow of doubt. It's only brain dead nut cases who
have it as their religion who refuse to open their eyes and see the facts.
The Sun's output is what causes the planet to warm and cool, not human
activity. The link with atmospheric carbon dioxide is bogus. It's been
proven by the facts that first the planet warms up and it's then FOLLOWED by
an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide.

But, go ahead. Keep making a fool out of yourself. Al Gore enjoys the
company.

That is cool. No pun intended. Always wanted to try it... either on the ice
or on a dry lake bed.

I got the plans here for an ice boat. then again down your way i dont
think you got the ice. not that we have it up here either; unless you
count the freeway. (it would be a hoot to take an ice boat down I-5
while all the rigs are stuck)

All they need to do is close it off, so you don't have to tack around
them... in Cal. one straight shot for 300 miles, mostly.

pretty much the only place you would have any trouble between
washington and southern California would be around Drain Oregon. i
have also got the plans for that ice sailor with a wheel setup. dunno
i think that as long as they aint moving it might be fun to tac round
a few of them.

How did you get the plans? Did you do an estimate of the cost to build? I
was thinking land sailing might be something to try if I can find the time.
