Hi, tired of hearing "buy a Yanmar". Are there other good engines that are
cheaper and reliable? Is there a website that features specs, price and
good application for use?

always vibrate, always have finicky fuel systems, always require expensive
repairs and always make too much noise. in additional they be *heavy* muthas
for the horsepower.

How much horsepower do you need ?.
Yanmar are the biggest player at the low end, for bigger engines
consider CAT or Volvo Penta.

The most important factor is availability of spares and service
anywhere that you are likely to go. The big players in the market
have the most service points.

nah, diesel engines NEVER break down. just ask Torrensen or anyone else who
sells them.

you can see some questions / problems people have had with different
brands. They also have a specs section..
