SHIPS CREW REQUIRED
We are currently seeking the following crew members for one of our
vessels operating around the West African coast.
Our vessel is essentially a large private yacht operating to very high
standards of service.
Specific marine experience is not required as in many cases training
will be given.
We are only looking for motivated, energetic and enthusiastic people
- team players who will live and work together in a relaxed family
environment.
Positions include:
Engineer & Assistant
With experience of maintaining and operating large diesel engines (4000
horsepower plus), diesel generating sets, pumping equipment, lifting
equipment and hydraulics.
Electrician & Assistant
With experience of maintaining and operating power generation and
distribution equipment.
Chef & Assistant
With experience of running a kitchen / galley, purchasing supplies,
designing menus and providing extremely high quality food and
refreshments to a crew of approximately 50 people, working on a 24 hour
rota.
Kitchen Porter
Experience an advantage. Training may be given. Assisting in the
general running of the kitchen / galley and ensuring high standards of
hygiene.
Head Housekeeper / Purser & Assistant
With experience of managing the housekeeping of approximately 50 cabins
and suites, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness.
Cleaners / Laundry Personnel
Experience an advantage. Training may be given. Dealing with the
cleaning of the vessel both internally and externally and managing the
laundry generated.
Deck Hands / Deck Cadets
Experience an advantage. Training may be given. Providing general
deck duties including deploying and stowing deck equipment, chains,
ropes, and fenders and maintaining a clean, safe and professional deck
environment. Duties may also include the loading and unloading of
cargo, provisions and supplies, and fuel bunkering.
Deck Cadets - Internal
Experience an advantage. Training may be given. Cadets required for
general internal duties including portering, waiting, and assisting
crew.
Security Personnel
Military or security experience an advantage. Responsible for the
overall security of the vessel both internal and external, including
guard duties, cctv monitoring, and watch keeping.
Office Manager
Office experience required, marine experience an advantage. Duties
include the managing of the ships office, document and spreadsheet
production, basic accounting / bookkeeping, telephone answering and
general administration.
Office Junior
Office experience an advantage. Training may be given. Duties are to
assist the office manager in the smooth and professional running of the
ships office and administration centre.
Maintenance Crew
Experience an advantage. Training may be given. To perform general
maintenance duties including minor repairs, painting, welding, joinery,
and lubricating equipment.
Accommodation, food and travel expenses included.
Minimum contract term is six months, preferably two years plus.
Salaries are available tax free and negotiated on an individual basis
subject to trade and experience.
Ships papers are arranged by us.
Contract due to start September 2005 - earlier by arrangement.
For safety reasons you must be able to speak English to an acceptable
standard and be between 18 and 45 years old.
