Are you interested in building a small power or sail boat?

John Welsford is a renowned New Zealand designer of small boats – from
2.5 meter dinghy's to 8 meter yawls.

We have a yahoo group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jwbuilders/
where the members trade construction tips and offer advice in
completing your Welsford design.

Many designs can be built with very little time and money invested and
with minimal power tools required. All that is required is the space
to build.

There are lots of links to other sites for boats and boat
construction. So stop by and visit about your boat building desires
and experiences.

I recently corresponded with John Welsford, and he seems like a very
nice guy. He will be in the US in late September, with Chuck from
Duckworks at a messabout in Texas. Then he will be speaking at the
Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival in Baltimore MD around the first of
October (or, perhaps somewhere else in the general area around
Washington DC ... not sure I'm remembering that correctly.)

John's website is at http://www.jwboatdesigns.co.nz/ with plenty of
pictures of small, sea-worthy looking boats (in the finest Kiwi
tradition!)

If he's speaking at the MASCF (Mid-Atlantic Small Craft Festival), that
would be in St. Michaels, MD, on the Eastern Shore of MD, the OTHER side
of the bay from Bal'more. MASCF is held at the Chesapeake Maritime
Museum, http://www.cbmm.org.
