Chrysler Outboard identification help
Hi,
I have an old Chrysler 50 horse outboard. The mfr tag isn't on the transom mount. It has 11-85 on one of the coils, and WE133 5/86 on the carb. It's electric start but also has pull-rope start on the flywheel. I would like to identify the motor to obtain a manual / parts list for it and a source for parts. Any ideas appreciated (other identifying marks hidden somewhere?) TIA, steve |
Chrysler Outboard identification help
Steve,
I've got an early 70 HP Chrysler and the id tag is on the inside of the motor housing, not on the outside of the mount. If you lift the lid on mine the tag is on the lower flat part of the interior housing, closer to the transom. Mike SteveK wrote: Hi, I have an old Chrysler 50 horse outboard. Chrysler Outboard identification help
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply... I can see on the mount where the tag *was* (or a tag of some kind). There are a couple numbers in the cover, but I am assuming those to be part numbers. There is nothing else inside attached or on the housing. I have been able to identify the 5 horse Evinrude kicker that also came with the boat. thanks again! "Mike Sr." wrote in message ups.com...
