When I key my mike on the VHF the tach synchronizer drops 200 RPM. What give
here?

If they are both on the same circuit, you could be getting a voltage drop.

Volt drop or EMI.
Could check volt drop by jury-rigging transmitter to a dedicated
battery. If problem then goes away, look at the wiring layout: does
the same bus feed the tach and the transmitter?

If problem remains, use shielded cable for either or both instruments.
