bathroom sink okay for melting lead?

A neighbour discarded a couple of cast iron bathoom sinks in great
condition. Wondering if enamel paint on interoir makes the sinks useless
for metling and casting lead. If they are okay I want to offer them free
on the Ottawa boating newsgroup. Thanks.

You will be impinging a 2,800F flame directly on the cast iron which is not
necessarily a big deal.

The interior enamel glaze may survive 700+F required for lead to become
molten, paint will not which is again NBD.

Basic question:

What did you plan to use to plug the drain hole?
