Can you have a 51' boat transported 250 miles to the ocean?

If I built one...

If you can, about how much would that cost?

Yes - depends on beam, total height and overpass clearances, etc

Cost depends on what decade you finish. Could take the avg builder
14+ years for a 51 ft boat - hard to predict the costs in 2018

Is this a trick question?
Hehe! The boat will deterioate faster than it is built...
May come down to a truck load of dirt :-o

We transported a 55' houseboat (3 years constr. time) over 18.5 miles.
21' beam, 20' high. Transport took us 3 days with resting over night.
I guess you can find a transport company, which asumes all
responsibility. Here we couldn't find one.
We had to MAKE a trailer.
We contracted an engineer
and two tractors and the drivers.
We involved the highway police
the national police,
hired the phone company guys and equipment,
hired the power company guys and equipment.
We consulted several municipalities
got the OK of many proprietors and the government.
The costs were well above US$ 20000 and this is in a
third world country. I guess it was VERY CHEAP.

It was a feat and it was fun.
BUT
do construct boats were the water is - and not just a bucket full ;-)

Kind regards, Eike

Do a Google search: "boat transporter" Several companies advertise on the
web. Most claim they'll move boats up to 65' long and I think you can get
ballpark quotes via e-mail off their web pages.

It depends on where you are and when you want it done. If the boat is
more than 14' beam or about 16' high it will cost a lot more beccause of
escort cars and routing problems. If you are close to a seasonal
transport route like I-95 or I-75 and are going the other way you can
often make a deal on a deadheading truck.
