Toxic paint
Many marine paints contain metallic compounds to keep barnacles and
algae away, but those compounds can leech into the water killing a wide variety of marine animals. Now, University of Florida researchers have created a new paint additive using natural compounds from a marine worm. These compounds could be useful as additives to marine paints because they affect the chemo-receptors that may help the barnacle larvae find a marine surface to settle on. Take a look at this report about toxic paint, this isn't a spam: http://www.groundhog.tv/apps/editor/...1613025513.wmv |
