The plan is to finish it with 4.5oz carbon fiber skins and hopefully have an exceptionally light & strong boat. At this point I'm still working on getting the basic hull shape laid down properly, and fair. Regards Doug King |

Does anybody else have a problem with millions of insects
commiting suicide by diving into wet epoxy? Does it contain some kind of bug pheromone? Some of the work gets done in the garage, but I prefer to do sanding and large batches of epoxy outdoors. Regards Doug King |

Doug, if you're really serious about this project, you'll capture a few
hundred bugs, cast up some bug-epoxy biscuits and take 'em to your local materials testing lab for testing the mechanical properties of the composite. At minimum, they'll be 'involved' in the next sanding step. Another argument for peel-ply. Jim "DSK" wrote in message ... Actually, the ones I *really* hate crawl across the back of my neck when I've got gloves smeared with epoxy on my hands, sometimes biting/stinging in the process.... *then* they dive into the epoxy on the boat... Oh well, I'll just tell people that not only is the boat carbon fiber, it's got a higher ratio of organic composites! Regards Doug King |

The System Three "Epoxy Book" suggests that it's the bug's only chance for

A few million years from now archeologists will unearth Dougs boat, discover
the preserved bugs, take DNA samples and "Jurrassic Park 10" will be launched with DSKs running amok instead of dinosaurs. MMC "derbyrm" wrote in message m...
