Removing a Chris Craft flybridge
I've recently bought a 34' Chris Craft Constellation with a flybridge. To
transport the boat the flybridge has to come off. Does anyone know if there are instruction on how to do this, points of attachment, etc? The boat is from 1964. All help appreciated. Thanks. Apologies if this is not the appropriate newsgroup to post this question. |

Tried going under a low bridge at ten knots? That should do the trick :)

Removing a Chris Craft flybridge
Thanks for the suggestion. I considered it.
I'll describe what we did for any future users who might be interested. Knowing the a flybridge was an option on the Constellation, we realized it must have been attached at the point where where the flybridge met the top of the cabin. Sure enough, there was a rail inside, but the screws couldn't be turned because of the angle they were at. Also, the exterior had been fiberglassed, so it was now one piece, so to speak. So, one rented reciprocating saw later, we had cut around the bottom edge and completely freed the flybridge. Undoing the wiring was fairly easy, with time taken to label and make schematics for future reference. With help from two guys at the yard, we lower it down to the next level of the bow. It sits there perfectly. That may be been where it sat when shipped. Hope someone finds this useful, I know I would have. "Robert Simpson" wrote in message ...
