Hi- I recently came into a 81 Mercury 7.5 outboard, minus owner's
manual.does anyone know what the proper fuel/oil ratio is required for
this motor?

If it has not been running in a long time get a can of OMC Internal engine
cleaner and fog it out. Run your first tank of fuel with a 20:1 ratio as a
break-in mix.

Thanks John - The motor was started a few weeks ago, but I don't trust
the fuel it was run on. It ran very smothly but produced qite a bit of
smoke. I ran al the fuel out of the engine and as soon as I have
disposed of the old fuel I will try that cleaner.
