Hello I have a Sabb 22 hp diesel that has never been started or
installed . I would like to start this engine/ And check it out. I
can hookup water cooling. But should the engine be under load, Other
then the alternator.

You can 'bench check' it without a load- Just don't over rev the crap out of
it. :-)
