Just as a thought: having restored several old wooden boats I wouldn't
take a double-planked boat as the first project. Of course it is possible
to start the learning curve there but I'd say that even a simple carvel
planked boat having exessive rot in the planking can give you hard times.
Double planking is more than double the trouble.
