Water Tank Replacement
Well, I posted a query about acquiring a stainless water tank for my
Morgan OI 41. The responders dissuaded me. The price is simply prohibitive. Any one have suggestions for water tankage. I can not buy a ready-made tank as it is a really odd shape which fits against the hull, upright, on the port side of the boat. Any suggestions appreciated. |

WORK????!!! :) Sorry...couldn't resist. Besides ronco there is also a company that will mold a tank for you any size and shape you want it and it's pretty reasonable. Unfortunately I can't find their URL at present. Sorry. Maybe Peggy Hall of someone else will be able to find it. There are two actually (that I know about): SeaFab (used to be C.C. Tech) http://www.seafabtanks.com/ Triple M Plastics: http://www.triplemplastics.net/ -- Peggie ---------- Peggie Hall Specializing in marine sanitation since 1987 Author "Get Rid of Boat Odors - A Guide To Marine Sanitation Systems and Other Sources of Aggravation and Odor" http://shop.sailboatowners.com/books...ku=90&cat=1304 |

Here is what I did and thought the money was well worth safe and tasty water. 45 gallons 316 L ss 3/16 inch plate 3 baffles 1 inspection plate and a pickup tube $600 total Look for a metal fabricator who services the restaurant business. So is $600 bucks too much for safe drinking water? Bob |

I also have a OI41, in ripping apart the boat I found the water tank really doesnt leak as it is an enclosed fiberglassed tank, however, IF you are sure of your leak then the only fix is by putting in a bladder. The largest available is about 56 gallons, you will loose about 20 gals from previous. My fittings are all from the top so it would be a much easier fix for me. However, we are shutting her back up and scratching our heads that the leak wasn't coming from the Port tank so where from? good luck |
