The new Filmtec SW30-2540 comparison.

I took a look at the new spec sheet for the SW30-2540. It looks like
they have increased the area of the membrane from 23 to 28 sq ft. That
is about a 22% increase. Maximum flux rate is up 12% so the maximum
recovery rate is now 13%. Up from 10%. Total product flow is now up
from 500 to 700 gpd or .35 to .48 gpm. Up about 37%. While the
maximum feed rate is still 6gpm it looks like the optimum rate is up
from 3.5 to 3.7 gpm.

Keep in mind that driving a membrane to its rated capacity greatly
reduces the service life. Overall, it looks like replacing the
membranes and keeping everything else the same should produce about 20%
more water and considerably lengthen service life.

Hi all, FWIW, I ran across the following website which seemed to have very
good prices on the Filmtec membranes.

Sorry, I don't know what happened, it didn't take???? I'll type the site
out and try again. http://americanro.micronpcweb.com/index.html. Click on
the prices link to see membrane prices. I haven't dealt with them, so
buyer beware.
