Pin holes in Gel coat

Hello all,
I'm doing some fiberglass layups and am having problems with the gel coat.
I am spraying it with a regular (cheap) spray gun which has had its material
nozzle drilled out and the pin filed down. This was to allow the thicker
gel coat to flow through. Its still slow but usable.
How do I prevent the pin holes? I get many of them; and while the part is
still usable, I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks,
Arnold

What about your air supply?? Do you have a moisture or oil seperator or
filter system??

You might be getting contaminated air.

What are you using for a mold release??

Or it your are spraying it directly on the part surface, after it is layed
up, are you cleaning the raw resin surface of all surfacing agent??

Just my thoughts, FWIW.
