Old growth Cyprus

A while back, I saw a neat tool on "This Old House" for pulling buried
nails out. It was made from Vise Grip pliers. The jaws were ground to
a point (needle nose style) so they would penetrate the wood around a
nail. There was a rod, maybe 12 inches or so, welded to the handle with
an impact weight on it. They opened the jaws to clear the buried nail
and drove it in with the impact weight. They were using it to salvage
some old molding for reuse. It seemed to work well with minimal damage
to the wood.

Gregg, where are you located? As a former manager of a large custom
cabinet manufacturer, I can put you in contact with a freind of mine who
owns Acadian Cypress and Hardwoods in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. His
company is one of the largest cypress importers and exporters in the
southern United States and 50,000 bf wouldn't be difficult for him to
handle. Are the boards straight or rounded? In other words have they
been cut in a barrel stave configuration? If you'de like me to give you
his name and # just let me know.

I've been lurking around this news group for awhile and gained quite a bit
of good information that helped me build my first boat.
There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people here so I thought this might
be a good place to post this question.
I have a friend who purchased a building with old food processing tanks
(1920's) made from Cyprus.
The Cyprus boards are 12-13' long 6-10" wide and 2"-2.5" thick and perfectly
clear.
He has about 50,000 board feet and would like to sell it. I was looking for
any suggestions on where he could start (other than e-bay) and what the
(ball park) asking price should be.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gregg
