1973 Aquasport

I have a 1973 Aquasport 22' CC with a Merc 125 Sal****er. I love it and
want to bring it back to its original condition or better.

They were extremely common boats here (Cape Cod) years ago. The 3 most
popular boats at the time were Mako, Aquasport and Boston Whalers.
However I can find zero information about the older Aquasports. The
original company is no longer and the new company is of no help.

Here is what I'm looking for:
Stringer configuration
Original Specs (weight, max power)
What is beneath the bow storage compartments

I am NOT a boat builder, just a guy who fishes way too much. I built my
own console last year that worked out great. Before I go removing the
deck I want to know what to expect. This will be a winter project but
I'm trying to gather as much info as possible now.

Any information would be appreciated. I have down lots of Google
searches with very little success. Local boatyards aren't much help
since I'm not giving them any money.

Back then Aquasport was probably still Coburn & Sargent in Miami or
Hiaheah, Florida. More than that I can't say. I was at the factory some
time in 1968 and my father bought the test mule for the 19 footer. I grew
up with the Sargents of Southwest Harbor, Maine. I don't remember
now which Sargent was part of Aquasport but he is long gone now so
that won't help. Good luck with your search.

I searched for "Coburn & Sargent" (with quotes) which I'm
guessing you wouldn't have known...

Glad to have helped.
