Elec problem on a 3L MerCruiser/98 SeaPro

Have a 3 liter LX MerCruiser in a 98 Sea Pro .. battery's fine, boat
starts no problem. Temp, oil, volt and tach all work (speedo never
worked) ..

Absolutely zero power to tthe panel however. No pump, horn, accessories,
lights, blower ... nothing except the ignition switch.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Check the things they all have in common - the ground return and the
common ground feed from the battery. Use a cheap test light or
voltmeter and follow along the wires until you find the open circuit.

It sounds like the 'A' terminal on your ignition switch might be
open, that's where the power comes out of the ignition switch to
feed all the accessories. You could bypass it with a toggle switch,
or replace the ignition switch. Try a skidoo switch, if you want to
save on the MARINE labels.

The pump (bilge pump?) should be wired so it always has power.

Terry,

Looks like it was a rot problem at the main connector plug leading into
the panel ... still can't figure how the ignition worked, but I
re-spliced everything and ta-dah ... damn sal****er!

Thanks
