Fiberglass backing material
A few days ago some one was discussing fiberglass backing material for
anchoring fittings. Can some one tell me if it has a specific brand name and where I can get it? Thanks, BS |
The ready-made material is an epoxy-glass laminate called G-10. It
comes in sheets bars rods and tubes and is available fgrom mcmaster-carr (search for garolite g-10) and from other plastics distrubutors. Alternatively, you can make your own with leftover glass and epoxy. Robert or Karen Swarts wrote: A few days ago some one was discussing fiberglass backing material for anchoring fittings. Is Current Composites lower in price than McMaster? Website say $100
min. order for sheet. Is that real? ddinc wrote: www.Currentcomposites.com and mcmaster-carr "Robert or Karen Swarts" wrote in message ... As far as I know, McMaster-Carr has NO minimum order. I order small
amounts regularly, for instance, about three weeks ago I ordered a ******* sized hole saw -only- that cost eight dollars and change. As usual, McMaster charged the catalog price plus mimimal shipping. I love 'em! You can't beat them, and I'm NOT a stockholder (if they are even publicly held). |
Spoke to Current Composites. RE Garoalite G10 2" rod. Min order 4lf.
@39.00/lf. Just placed an order for the same material with McMaster Carr. They sell it by the ft at $56.00/ LF. One foot min order. Current Composites is cheaper if you can work with their min order.
