Hydraulic Drive

Has anyone considered using the hydraulics from a pot hauler or deck
crane as a hydrostatic drive? I'll be using it on a 15 ton double ender.

there use to be some variations of them made commercially. mostly used where
it was very hard to align the engin and shaft. It gives you the option of
putting the engin any where that is convenient.
