Tackle Station

Winter project: planning on building tackle station with slide in Plano
trays and a couple of drawers that will fit inside my center console. About
30" wide 9" deep 18" high.

Anybody ever use Starboard? Seems kind of heavy. Would 1/2" be ok.?

Any other input would be appreciated. Any project websites would be helpful

Have order DYI Boating's Starboard DVD.

Recently re-did a tackle locker in my sportfish. Starboard did seem a
little on the heavy side so I used a product called PVC board in 1/2"
thickness. It's lighter, machines like wood, is put together using standard
PVC primer & cement, and provides a great surface for painting. It's worked
out very well, but the cabinet is inside of a larger fiberglass enclosure in
the cockpit. Don't think I'd use PVC if anybody was going to be sitting or
standing on the tackle locker...don't think it would be strong enough, but
from what you describe it should be fine. Bought it in 4 x 8 sheets from
Paxton in Norfolk.
