Epoxy Syringe

I've read that people use a syringe to inject epoxy into holes. What type
of syringe is suited for this task, and where can I find one? I suppose
they are cheap enough to just dispose after use? Thanks

Got kids? The kind used to administer liquid red clothes-staining
tylenol to a squirming child work wonderfully. Get the larger size. you
ca ntrim the tip as needed to enlarge the flow.

After you use it, use vinegar to flush it out a bunch of times, and you
can reuse it a few more times.

Or buy a couple in a package. They are not terribly expensive. After use,
rinse with vinegar, followed by water, and keep using them.

West System sells purpose designed "syringes" for epoxy. You can snip
the end to make the delivery hole any size you want, and it is super
smooth on the inside so you can breakout, or push out, cured epoxy.
Available anywhere West Epoxy products are sold.

How big?

I used a length of clear plastic tube sized to fit in a regular
caulking gun. A rubber tip like a funnel from somewhere fit well. I
think the parts were originally part of an aquarium pump of some
sort. A plasic disk plug wrapped in saran wrap protected the
plunger on the caulking gun.

I mixed up thick goo, plopped it onto on a plastic sheet, rolled it
like a doobie, squeezed the goo into the tube like toothpaste,
pulling out the plastic sheet, put in the plug, and fixed a clear
hose on the end to squeeze the bog into the space between upper and
lower f/g on my side decking while replacing rotton balsa with old
plywood scraps.

Three gallons of epoxy bog!

The kit is still useable, cleaned in acetone promptly. Worked good.

I used plastic bagging like it was paper towel to wipe off gloved
hands, etc. You develop a method that works, after a few messes.

& if you live in a small country town like me, go ask your local vet. (cat
size to elephant size) Don't ask your Chemist or else you get called a
"druggy" by the rest of the town as gossip likes to spread from them. (lol)

Farm Supply stores sell them for injecting cattle. After use, lay them
down so the epoxy runs back out of the nozzel. Then just flex to remove
epoxy.

Thanks for the replies. I had to pick up a prescription at CVS, and I asked
for one of those children's medicine syringes. It was free, and it worked
great!
