minicup sailing

Took my two minicups to Shell Pt, FL today to sail. Light wind, maybe
6 kts. Was a good sail anyway. Wife and daughter got some
confidence. Sail on #1 began to fail where the carpet tape I used ont
he visqueen pulled loose. It has been constantly exposed to rain
every other day so am not too surprised.
However, the pulleys on #1 were so rusted they cannot turn even though
I rinse them after use. Salt water is very hard on them. May need to
bite the bullet and buy some marine blocks.

Am putting together a web page about building the minicups, sailing
them and the trailer I built. Finally got enough pics.

Thanks Andrew Buttcher (sp?)

David - I'm glad you're having fun with your boats. Sorry for the
delay in responding to your message - I haven't been on UseNet much
lately. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures though - you
might also want to email Stevenson Projects when you get the page up.
They like to see the finished boats that result from their plans.

you might look for an article on making small wooden blocks at home.

I have seen articles where people talked about using plywood for the sheaves
as well.
