Cleaning Aluminum???

Hi Folks

Attempting to 'restore' some aluminum fittings and trim
on a restoration project. Anyone have method for removing
the worst of the oxidation, etc?

Ammonia is supposed to take oxidation off of other metals. I've never
tried it, but you could give it a shot.

Hi,

Very fine wet-or-dry sandpaper or maybe even a paint prep pad,
followed up by T-Cut or metal polish should do it.

Once the aluminium is restored it would be worth protecting with a
waxy rust inhibitor like LPS-3.

cheers,
Pete.
