Ferru: French boat builder
Can't find any information on this builder. All I know is that the boat I have is a custom aluminum sloop 1988 vintage, built in Antibes, France. He did a few then retired or quit building. Hull number leads nowhere. This boat was seized by the US for drug related reasons. Sold off at an auction in Ft. Lauderdale Fl around 1995. Beautiful craftmanship, custom keel with swing extension (hydraulic). Pilothouse/50ft.
I looked all over this vessel to an extent trying to find any data tag that would have more information, regarding displacement, ballast, etc. to no avail. Where would a boat buider put a data plate on a vessel inconspicously? Any help or sugestions leading to all the above would be greatly appreciated. John |

Maybe the smug drugglers stole it and removed the plate to hide it's history. Maybe a very small boat builder, doing a custom job, wouldn't put a plate on the boat - the boat pre-dates the EU Recreational Craft Directive which would have forced it to have one for it to be sold, at least on the EU market.
