Red Cloud in Sail magazine
Was reading a Sail mag at work this week, saw a blurb about
Joe's ill fated coffee trip. Pic of Red Cloud included. Sorry if this was posted before, I've been busy. Anybody hear from Joe lately? Scotty |

Trying to teach that Canuck daughter-in-law to speak 'merican? Anybody hear from Joe lately? He seems to be keeping a pretty low profile, maybe he's running work boats again to earn enough to buy another sail boat? Cheers Marty |

Cheers Marty He's probably ashamed to show his sorry, incompetent face around the newsgroups anymore and rightly so. Remember how he used to brag and act so cocksure? He fancied himself a mighty seaman with no fear. Ha ha ha! My how the mighty have fallen! It seems maybe he's finally decided to take responsibility for his premature evacuation (chickening out is what we used to call it!) and sinking of his boat. I'd like to think he's not gonna brag anymore about how great his boat and sailing abilities were. After that humiliating smackdown he received last winter from a little ole Gulf cold front he'd have to be off his rocker to continue to act so haughty and proud. He's a girly man if ever there was one . . . but now he's been forced to face that fact. As for running workboats; he never ran a workboat. He was little more than a deck monkey. And, with his sterling record of abandoning his own yacht in the face of a little ole gale force wind who's gonna be stupid enough to hire him and put him in charge of a multi-million dollar offshore supply vessel? Scotty I also saw that and assumed it was posted here. There's a pic of his boat as well, plus it says he's not giving up on his plans. I do hope that's the case. Joe walked the walk, while most losers here like Neal and Crantz only pretended to be off shore sailors. Gonna come sailing this season, Scotty, or are you still holding a grudge? You could say he talked the talk and you'd be correct but walking the walk implies he was a blue water sailor and he demonstrate he was no such thing. Blue water sailors have a backbone and don't yell for rescue prematurely. Since when do you call hanging from a helicopter rescue sling and abandoning a boat that was in no imminent danger of sinking walking the walk? Sounds more like a yellow belly crawling the crawl because he got scared! He got frightened like a little girl because of a cold front with winds sustained at 40 knots and gusting up to 50 and little ole 8 to 10 foot seas. What a loser! Blue water sailors know how to cope with such weather offshore and they aren't frightened out of their wits. Red Cloud's demise demonstrates how pathetic her so-called captain really is. Can you say girly man? Wilbur Hubbard (tells it like it is) |

Can you say girly man? Wilbur Hubbard (tells it like it is) Yes, you're a girly man for sure. Red Cloud was taking on water and the report says her cabin integrity was also compromised. She couldn't be recovered because she did in fact sink. Joe did what was right and protected the lives on board. Most importantly you weren't there and Joe was. Joe took a chance and was man enough to make an effort. All you do is bitch about from behind your keyboard and pretend to be a man of the sea. You're not. You're just a silly puppet boy who isn't even man enough to post his real ID or a photo of his real boat. I guess you find it funny; I hope, since it's super pathetic. Hey, I teased Joe plenty, but when he actually cast off he deserved respect. The only kind of man who won't give it to him isn't really a man at all. Dude, you should be ashamed of yourself. You're no better than Marty because you don't know when to cool it, shut the **** up and be a man. The Good Captain 35s5 NY |

You equate trying with success. Sorry, but trying is just trying. Success in trying PLUS succeeding. Failure is trying PLUS failing. The captain of "RED CLOUD" tried and failed. He is, by real-world definition, a failure! But, go ahead and stick with your bankrupt and illogical philosophy. Since you constantly try and fail you've got to come up with some excuse to make that seem respectful. I suppose it's the only thing that works for you liberals who are prime examples of failed girly men. You are needed as examples of how NOT to do things so keep up the good work.
