I have a vial of glacier dust...and a piece of the Rock of Gibraltar. Heck, that's nothing. I have a moon rock and Babe Ruth's bat that he used to hit his 700th home run. Plus I have one of Alexander the Great's sandals (used to have the pair but the dog chewed one) and the paint brush that Leonardo used to paint the Mona Lisa. I used to have the steering wheel off the Titanic but it was bad luck to keep it on the boat. DSK |

Poor, poor Sloco!
Can you imagine that poor Sloco is now stewing again, praying to
god that I don't have the 1st of the GP-9 series from Lionel? Sorry, Sloco, but I do. There's actually quite a bit more in my father's attic including Lionel Display trains which are worth a fortune. Thomas will inherit those one day. The boxed GP-9 will probably go to a collector friend at some point. It's so funny how I casually eclipse anything poor Sloco works hard for. . You're not making me jealous. The only post war Lionel trains I have are the ones we had as kids. They will get passed down. I only buy modern stuff with command control and digital sound. By the way those old trains in your old man's attic are dropping in value every day. People who collected that rusty crap are passing on. So you better put them on ebay quick. Today's buyers are buying new stuff. Oh, please tell the group what Lionel "display trains which are worth a fortune" are. I've never heard of that catagory. More bull**** from Boob****. |

I've never heard of that catagory. More bull**** from Boob****. So, Sloco the homo train boy doesn't even know about train sets!!!! Well, I'll teach him a few things. Even as lionel started making trains, they also did window displays. In fact, it's said that the 1st train was for a window display. They continued to do this even as they made more convention electric train sets, usually as one-offs for large "famous" store displays. Few survive. My father owns two, one from Macy's and the other from Alexanders. They are worth a lot of money at auction. The Macy's model is, complete with a custom track and cars made for the store. One of the five cars is actually a boxcar redone as Santa's workshop. My father originally had three of these, but he sold one to see what it would go for. 5500.00. That seems like a lot for a toy train, though some have sold for more. We're told that the Alexanders train is far more valuable because of it's size. Like I said, I eclipse poor Sloco at every turn! He's truly the born loser and his boat is UGLY!!! RB 35s5 NY |

Total bull****. In the 50s, the heyday of department store Christmas window displays, Lionel trains would be featured in Dept. store windows all across the country. In NY Lionel would actually do the displays at some Macy's locations. For some stores with the buying power Lionel would make up sets for them to sell exclusively to eliminate them having to compete with discount stores. There were tens of thousands of these sets made every year. That's what your ole man has Boobie. Not a one of a kind "window display train" Oh, and Lionel surely would not have made "custom track" for Macys or any other dealer for that matter. Maybe you could post a picture of this track. I know of only 3 types of Lionel track and each one of them was sold by the millions. By the way Lionel still makes a few thousand boxcars for Macys each holiday season even today. Maybe you should run down and buy a couple. They will be worth millions. So you see Boobie your knowledge of Lionel's history will never "eclipse" mine. The lame Boob looks like a dummy once again. 35s5: Express 30 speed |

That's what your ole
man has Boobie. Not a one of a kind "window display train" Wow, Sloco sure sounds angry and jealous now! As well he should! Sorry, but it IS a one-off unit. We had it appraised and identified. Furthermore, one of the cars has custom graphics showing a pic of Rowland H. Macy and another shows Isidor Express, refering to the Straus bros. One of the track pieces has a tin mock-up of the Herald Sq. building. It was only used for one season of course, dated 1942, but we're told used a year later. This one item is probably worth more than your whole collection. Grant Donaldson has seen it in person and knew exactly what it was. Now go spin! RB 35s5 NY |
